Capstone Project 1: Instructional Systems Design using the Dick & Carey Model

Project Description

Northwestern University in Qatar (NU-Q) is transitioning to a new building over the next few months. As a result, faculty, staff, and students are required to orient themselves to new classroom technology. An AV (audio-visual) lectern will be available in each classroom and conference room with a touch based control panel that controls audio and video from input sources (laptop, DVD player, document camera, etc.) to displays (projectors, LED screens, lecture capture systems, etc.) and speakers.

For the Design Project in the class, we created a self-instructional training module for one type of classroom that faculty, staff, and students can use to orient themselves with technology required to prepare for a class, conference, or any other technology supported event. Example use cases for the classroom include an instructor using the projector to display a powerpoint presentation, a film screening using the Blu-Ray player, or a video conference with colleagues at the Northwestern Evanston campus.
